The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt gets hotfixes for update 4.01 (89 views)

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has received a fresh patch from CD Projekt Red. The Witcher 3's 4.01 update went out earlier this month, and today's patch fixes some of those problems. Players can Buy The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in the game.
CDPR launched the action role-playing game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in 2015 to overwhelming acclaim. The game follows series protagonist Geralt of Rivia as he searches for his long-lost lover Yennefer and rescues his adopted daughter Ciri from the titular Wild Hunt. Along the way, he battles monsters inspired by Slavic mythology, while players explore The Witcher 3's highly detailed dark fantasy world. The game's next-gen remake, which launched in December, went through a troubled development cycle and was plagued by numerous performance issues and bugs. Despite this, the re-release of The Witcher 3 has received similarly positive reviews to the original.
The developers hope to fix a few issues with The Witcher 3's 4.01 patch. Unfortunately, while the patch did fix many issues with the next-gen port of The Witcher 3, it also introduced a new set of performance issues on PC. Fortunately, the developers seem to have spotted the issue, and the studio announced via Twitter that it had rolled out an appropriate fix. Sadly, CD Projekt didn't reveal any detailed patch notes, but the patch is relatively minor, and the developer says the game's version number won't change. Either way, this is great news for The Witcher 3 players on PC.
Update 4.01 hits PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on February 2. The patch contains various fixes covering issues with the next-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The patch mainly addresses stability and performance issues, but also addresses some localization issues. The update affects PC players and next-gen console owners, and players are experiencing issues on all platforms. However, today's hotfix only addresses PC-specific Witcher 3 performance issues. CDPR did not explain what was causing these performance issues on PC, but said they should be addressed now.
Even with regard to PC performance problems, The Witcher 3's 4.01 update has drawn criticism. Some of these complaints were made by players in responses to a tweet from CD Projekt Red, the publisher and developer of the game. These include the developer's neglect to address a serious memory leak that led to a slow but incredibly observable performance decline. Others have questioned the patch's delayed distribution and the fact that it doesn't fix the performance and graphic problems that patch 4.01 on consoles introduced.
